NEW! Freeport Players "Theater Club"
Are you interested in seeing what's happening in theaters around southern Maine? Do you want to hang out with other theater fans? We're organizing a club to go to six or so plays during the 2010-2011 season. We'll choose the plays and the dates (with input from the club members), negotiate for group discounts, order and distribute the tickets, and send reminders the week of the show. Club members will also have a chance to see optional events with the group, gather before or after the show, and even carpool. Think of it as a season pass to Maine theater.
In order to make this work, we need 10 or more members signed on by September 30. To find out more, please e-mail Elizabeth at info@fcponline.org.
To help shape the way the club works, please take five minutes to complete our brief survey. You'll be asked your preferences about types of plays, membership fees, theaters you want to check out, and more. Take the survey...

I Hate Hamlet closes after great run

The cast and crew of I Hate Hamlet had a great time and wowed audiences, but all good things must eventually come to an end. We'll take a week or two to rest, then jump into preparations for Sparkle Weekend and the WFCP Home Time Radio Hour.

Here's what audiences said about I Hate Hamlet:
"I love this show! I have not stopped laughing the whole show! Thank you for the experience and the opportunity, the best I've had all summer!" -- Ashton C.
"Enjoyed it. Especially 'John Barrymore.'" -- Evelyn J.
"Love the show. Great actors. Amazing." -- Garth K..
"Really good fun." -- Polly H.
"We loved it!" -- Joyce P.
"Barrymore rules!" -- Ellin D.

Join us on FaceBook and tell us what you thought of the show. We want to hear from you!

BECOME A SPONSOR
Freeport Community Players relies on the generous support of area businesses to -- as we say -- "keep the ticket prices low while we keep the quality high." In addition to our thanks, sponsors receive free tickets to share with employees and customers, ads in show programs, listings on posters and on our web site, and mention during the "curtain speech" at each show.

Freeport Players provides opportunities for local amateur actors to perform in roles often reserved for professionals. We involve members of our community in all aspects of the process, drawing on their talent and enthusiasm to create the "magic" of theater. Our volunteers are compensated for their time with fun, creative challenges, the chance to learn about the craft of theater, and, often, bonds of friendship that endure long after the curtain closes.
