Work begins immedately for our designers, in May for construction/fabrication crews, mid-June for stage crew & techs, and July for dressers, hairdressers and audio techs.
Whether you have direct experience in theater or no experience but a strong interest and commitment to learn, we want you! We pair novices with more experienced theater artists so everyone can learn and have fun making the magic happen on our stage.

Want to get involved, but not sure how? Click here for a list and descriptions of the many many ways volunteers help out behind the scenes.
Freeport Players provides opportunities for local amateur actors to perform in roles often reserved for professionals. We involve members of our community in all aspects of the process, drawing on their talent and enthusiasm to create the "magic" of theater. Our volunteers are compensated for their time with fun, creative challenges, the chance to learn about the craft of theater, and, often, bonds of friendship that endure long after the curtain closes.
Your support makes a difference!
We are really proud of the work our volunteers do and we are grateful for the things our friends donate or loan to us to put on stage. But even with all that time and good will on the balance sheet, we rely on donations from people like you, people who have enjoyed what we do and know how important Freeport Players are to the community. As we strive to meet increasing costs and improve the experience we offer participants and audiences, we look to you for support.
To make a donation, you may either use the convenient, secure PayPal button below (you will be prompted to enter a donation amount), or mail your check or money order to Freeport Community Players, PO Box 483, Freeport, ME 04032.
